The Mystical Nomad

A traveling nomad, I stand outside my van, basking in the Southwestern desert sunshine.

It’s mid-winter, and the wind is frigid. Fingers and face are cold, but the rest of me is cozy warm, bundled in layers under my thick hoodie.

I close my eyes to let the sun kiss my face. Bliss.

It feels like flying, my head tilted to the sun, my feet on pebbly ground.

I’m free.

Opening my eyes, I’m gazing at a work of art, immersed in it.

The sun, a brilliant orb radiating in the deep blue dome of the desert sky. Ragged gray mountains rise in the distance, painted with the indigo of slowly drifting shadows.

The sky, the mountains, the desert, always transforming.

How do I describe this feeling?

There’s nothing like it.

The Life of a Mystical Nomad

Fulfilling. Rough. Nomad life will grind your edges off until nothing is left but the self you brought along for the journey.

It will bring you to your knees, then lift you up in joy.

With my feet grounded to the Earth, I feel my chest expand. The crisp wind sweeps across me while the warmth of the desert sun penetrates my bones.

On the Desert, My Senses Expand.

Sounds drift to me from miles away, vibrations of life traveling freely across the open desert.

Volcanic mountain ranges surround me, elegant with their ragged, ancient edges.

The view of the vast dome of deep blue sky flows into my nervous system through my eyes, those mystical orbs of alchemy.

The desert air brushes my skin, cool for now until the desert heats up.

The smell and taste of desert … sharp and acrid, creosote and rocky land, its own signature scent.

I Am Meant to be Here.

What is that feeling?

More than belonging.

Deeper than belonging. It’s knowing I stand at the center of creation’s embrace.

It’s feeling my existence at a cellular level. Belonging to the Earth, the sun, the moon, the mountains.

My consciousness expands to embrace nature. Nature reaches out to embrace me in return, pure energy flowing through the ancient currents in my body, mind, and soul.

I AM the singularity, created at the intersection of eons past and eons ahead, to exist in this very moment.

I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be.
